Technical Diving Photography
Below the surface — beyond recreational limits.
Below the surface — beyond recreational limits.
Most of my work is created beyond recreational depth limits, in technical diving environments where the dive dictates pace, light, and decisions.
Technical diving photography is shaped by constraints — gas planning, decompression, team awareness, equipment configuration — long before a camera comes into play.
These images exist because those systems hold.
Photography is secondary — but never optional.
I’m Kerstin Olbrich, an Austrian underwater photographer, technical diving instructor trainer and CCR instructor. Most of my diving, teaching and photography takes place in Dahab, Egypt.
My photography is shaped by years of teaching and diving on both open circuit and CCR, combining an understanding of complex dive environments with a calm, documentary approach behind the camera.
